Re-brand project I worked on during my summer Internship at Pentagram, London. Working alongside Harry Pearce I updated the design from an existing Scotch whiskey. Since 2014 Pentagram has been working with Berry Bros. & Rudd, one of the world’s oldest and most respected wine merchants. Most of the labels designed for them are typographically driven, and the whiskeys in particular have the most individual character. Label by label, they switch from black to white backgrounds with a touch of red. This made designing the label very fun as I was able to have a lot of freedom. I drew a simple illustration, and sourced the typography from old typographic volumes. As with all of the Berry Bros. & Rudd work the central tenet of each design is authenticity.
